Wrong identifier
Check spaces and email spelling. Never test using another person's account.
Match a familiar address, the correct account identifier and a private device before signing in. Login and recovery solve different problems; this page does not receive passwords.

Login requests access through an identity that already exists. Display names, email addresses and usernames are not always interchangeable. Establish which identifier the service expects before entering it.
A saved password may be out of date. After changing a password, check the browser's stored entry separately. If attempts repeatedly fail, stop and identify the type of error.
An old session does not automatically transfer to a new phone. An expired session, an incorrect password and loss of a contact channel are different problems. The recovery page addresses preparation for the last situation.
Use an address you know rather than a link in an unfamiliar message.
Check whether the service asks for a username or an email address.
Review autofilled values and replace outdated information without exposing it to others.
Distinguish successful access, session expiry and a rejection message.
These situations have different causes and call for different responses. Match the description to the question you actually have.
Check spaces and email spelling. Never test using another person's account.
Pause and record the error message. Stop guessing if the password is forgotten.
Check that your own contact channel is available. Read security advice if the old device was lost.

Closing a private browsing window can end its session. If tabs show different states, open the known address in a fresh tab. An open page alone does not prove that login succeeded.
When describing the issue, include device, browser and time. Exclude passwords and session links. If the contact channel is also lost, use the separate recovery explanation.
Remove the outdated identifier and enter the correct one yourself. Check whether you changed the password on another device.
Stop guessing and locate the authorised recovery process. Our recovery page explains preparation.
Do not save the password and end the session afterwards.
Do not send it. Treat the request as suspicious and recheck the contact address.
